10:05am - 10:50am Keynote- The contribution of international collaboration to the quality of universities
Tuesday Jun 11
When we talk about international collaboration and partnerships, those at the individual level are the most frequently discussed – through the exchange of information and thoughts, new knowledge is created, innovation takes place, and collaborating researchers benefit mutually. What is less understood is the role of international collaboration at the group level and at the governance level. How do universities collaborate and gain insights from policy and system benchmarking of the U21 projects? How does international collaboration support university autonomy and ensure the university performs effectively? In this opening session, we share our perspective and demonstrate how, through international collaboration between hemispheres and across oceans, the University of Auckland and New Zealand as a country get closely connected with the international community and conduct research with real-world impact.
