Pritish Mukherjee is a Professor of Physics and currently Vice Provost and Associate Vice President for Strategic Talent Recruitment, University Reputation and Impact at the University of South Florida, Tampa. He earned a doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo, followed by a postdoctoral appointment at the Los Alamos National Laboratory prior to joining the Physics Department at the University of South Florida in 1988. He served as Physics Department Chair from 2003 to 2015, and has over 270 papers published in refereed scientific journals, or presented at refereed or invited conferences in the areas of materials physics, applied laser physics, chemical physics, nonlinear semiconductor physics and biophysics, including 115 peer-reviewed articles and 3 issued U.S. patents. He is a recipient of the National R&D 100 Award and was inducted into the National Academy of Inventors in 2011. His current administrative role encompasses strategic planning related to faculty and student recruitment, and enhancing university reputation.
